About AVIF Studio
A focused set of tools for turning AVIF images into files you can use.
Built around one task
AVIF Studio offers free AVIF to PNG, JPG and WEBP conversion. The workspace is designed for one image or a batch, with clear output settings and direct downloads.
Local by design
The converter loads image-processing code into your browser. Your selected files are decoded and encoded on your device, without being uploaded to an image-processing server.
What it supports
Still AVIF images, up to 20 MB per file and 16 megapixels after decoding. Output is 8-bit. Animated AVIF, HDR fidelity and embedded metadata preservation are outside this tool's scope.
How we check conversion
We use a known still AVIF fixture and reopen the generated files with an independent decoder. Checks cover dimensions, decoded PNG pixels, transparent WEBP pixels, the selected JPEG background and batch ZIP contents. The sample files are published in our AVIF vs PNG comparison so you can inspect them yourself.
How these guides are made
The guides were drafted with AI assistance and checked against format documentation and the converter's own test results. They explain practical conversion choices without claiming that every browser or AVIF variant behaves identically. Limits and unsupported features are stated on the tools.
Technology credits
The image engine uses open-source jSquash codecs derived from Squoosh, with fflate for ZIP downloads. License notices are included in the site assets.
